I accidentally said that the passage is from "Boys and Girls". It's actually from "Royal Beatings".

  1. Well done! Great awareness of the significance of this passage. You effectively extend your analysis to universal themes. - Don't overlook the importance of identifying simile, personification and other literary elements with an awareness of the effect on the reader.

You demonstrate a good understanding of the expectations of the IOC introduction, but at three minutes look for opportunities to cut details that are non essential and that you will return to later.

BE MUNRO. Too often you frame your analysis as 'the narrator says' or 'here we see' whereas 'Munro uses...' would be more effective.

Be careful of drifting too far away from the content of the passage into theoretical musings. You need to keep this balanced. Do this by commenting more on Munro's diction and sentence structure.
